"The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind." - William James

Success is a result of a change of attitude of mind.

Success is difficult because we were taught to live in the hard way, focusing in the future and in the past. We go to school to have a good life, study to have a good grade in the test, practice to beat someone else’s record, work hard to be promoted. All these messages are aimed to have a good future.
There is not much of recognition for the good things we do in the present as there is criticism for the bad things done in the past. If you do well, it is fine, but if you do badly then you will be criticized over and over again for long past mistakes.

There is a Lot of focusing in the past. Most of our living time is focused in events of the past and the future; fewer dedicated to the Present.
If we focus in the past we keep building future like the past.
If we focus in the future we neglect time to the present.
If we focus more in a good Present we build a better Future.
Because we can control neither the past nor the future we should dedicate most of our life time to the Present, NOW, Here.
Give little time to the past to correct mistakes and some time to the future for planning.

Take experiences of the past, Plan the future and stick with the plan in the present, but change it if need to have a better Present. The Present should rule.

Sort events by importance.

  • Work Now on the event classified as most important. One at time.
  • Postpone only irrelevant events that could be eventually discarded.
  • Identify relevant events: Highest Importance, Urgent, Late, Life threatening, and Critical. Attack them first.
  • Keep loyal to your plan by writing it down in a card and following it up.
  • Predict what could happen if you change your plan but also predict what could happen if you do not change your attitude.
  • Prevent bad things from happening by acting now.
  • Do not procrastinate. Act now by Planning, Classifying, and Focusing in the Present.
  • Only focus on those events that have the highest classification first. Pass to the next when the previous is completed.
  • Live the moment and take real breaks when tired or confused.

Conclusion: Forget about the results in the future, because they are granted when focusing and doing well in the present.
Change methodology and results will bring grate satisfaction.
Do not change! Then, results won’t change either.
Classify your events by level of importance and focus on the most important. Predict, Prevent and Plan well.
